A groupage transport service is where a number of consignments, destined for the same location, are consolidated into a single trailer load. This method of transportation is extremely cost effective as customers only pay for the space occupied by their shipments and not for the whole trailer.
We recommend this method of transport for customers who have cargo weighing up to 2 tonnes, or where the volume is smaller than 10 m³.
From our experience, small to medium sized businesses with multiple small shipment sizes benefited from using a groupage shipment service. In 2013, Delamode Baltics’ half year results recorded a 39% increase in groupage shipments, when compared to the same period in 2012.
We operate scheduled weekly groupage services to and from Europe, which includes the following countries: German, UK, Italy, Ireland, Denmark, Spain, France, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Turkey, Poland, Benelux and Scandinavia.
The length of delivery varies depending on the transportation route and other related factors which may influence the delivery time. Our comprehensive range of groupage services offer scheduled departures days and fast transit times right across Europe. County specific groupage service details are available upon request, though as a guide the average transit time is 3 days. Groupage shipments for the Baltic States are delivered within 24 hours.
We will arrange for the cargo to be collected and transported to the consolidation warehouse. The cargo is then consolidated and transported to its European destination; the cargo is then dispatched at a strategically located warehouse. From here the cargo is reloaded and delivered locally to its final destination point – this stage is generally completed within 24 hours.
